First they tell me Pluto isn't a planet, and now this
From the NY Times science page (I can't do a direct link, so you'll have to find it yourself). I just don't see it catching on...
Random in both frequency and topic, this is my life. Sort of.

No!!! First of all, it actually makes it harder to find elements (we read left to right, to p to bottom, after all). Second, it'll make all those periodic table spoofs (mixology, etc) obsolete. And that would be a travesty.
Besides, it just looks silly.

It's so hard to follow around the spirals to find the elements that should be next to each other. That silly line for the spiral just clutters things up. And it's hideous. Basically, I repeated what you said. So I'll add this: Also, it won't fit nicely on a board in the classroom; it just takes up too much space.

I think I like it. Color coded, room for expansion. I mean when there were 103 no one was thinking in terms of anything new. And now what, 114? I don't even know. It would be nice to have one that I could see better, and study, maybe I would change my mind. But I don't think so. Have you found any side by side comparisons? Could you work on that?

You just like it because one of the renderings looks like the Enterprise. I had a color coded periodic table in the correct linear/rectangular format. It was great. No spiral necessary.

Hmm. I may need to find a way to differentiate myself from the other anonymous people on the Internets.
P.S. PHBIRDXJ.

you could, you know, use a name. Or some sort of nickname. Until then, you shall be collectively called Amorphous. And that's a dumb name.
